RAGE!
This is my new project: I am going to make a costume for a friend with the following theme: RAGE.

I am thinking chains, stiletto heeled boots and a motorcycle... but I still need to think about it. I am at the drawing and brainstorming phase for now, but it's moving forward.

As a teaser, I would like to do something very modern, high fashion and outrageous for this one, and I hope to find a way to use my 3D printer as part of it.
Multipurpose Cape Pattern
The idea of this project is to draft a pattern for a cape that can be used for many purposes, depending on your application.

Capes are a staple of LARP costumes. They are perfect for keeping you warm around the campfire in the evening, they can work with just about any world and time period, they don't need to be precisely sized to you, and they can be endlessly customized to match any costume.

On another front, I have been wanting to draft my own patterns for a while, and I figure this is a good place to start. Therefore, I have started to research for this project, and hopefully I can add some bonus features on this project... I'll keep you posted!
Medieval Dress
As part of costuming school, the first pattern we created was a draped medieval bodice pattern. This pattern could then be used to make a variety of pieces, namely cottes, surcottes, cloaks, cotehardies or later-era doublets.

As we were making the pattern, I was daydreaming about making my own custom-fitted cotte and surcotte lined with fur on the sides, and I actually bought some beautiful green ramie fabric to make it. Of course my schedule then was pretty full and I never got the time, but now I have more time and lots of energy, so I have started again.

The current plan is to make a very warm middle-class women's outfit composed of several overlapped dresses. I have a simple underdress made out of an old and very used off-white italian wool, which also serves as my mockup because I did one at the time of drafting, so it should fit properly, but I am not very confident that my drafting skills were good enough at the time to get the fit I would like. The result is not incredible, but not too bad either. Pictures coming soon.

The next layer will be the green cotte, with a front lacing closure and shorter sleeves, to reveal the underdress sleeves.

Finally, there will be a surcotte of a fabric which I am yet to find. I don't even know what color I would like yet. Of course, it will have a faux fur edging.
Other Small Projects
I often start quick projects that sometimes cut into the momentum of my big projects to get something fun out quickly because I have a sudden inspiration for a project that I can't put off until later. Here are some examples:
- A simple mid-length kimono to wear in casual-chic mode.
- A simple festival-style top, but... reversible!
- A quilted Christmas tree.
